Day 196: heat wave
A sticky heat has ascended on Munich. Throughout the day and night the city remains in a constant state of warmth without even a hint of wind. Even if you keep to the shade, wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water you still end up sweaty and dehydrated.
Front page newspaper articles include tips such as “10 Ways to Keep Cool!” and “Open Swimming Pools in Munich”. Almost everyone walking on the street is eating ice cream and wearing as little clothes as possible.
Ice is the only lifeline, but by the time you reach the front of the queue for a Frappe you are already exhausted and wet.
